News from a Changing Planet -- #50a - Coming Up Empty
It's finally happened...and I need your help!
I didn’t want to leave everyone high and dry without a newsletter, since I know every single one of my subscribers awaits these dispatches with bated breath but…it’s happened: I’ve come up empty! I know there are about a million things to write about but I’m having trouble finding a new or interesting angle, or a topic that I think isn’t getting written about enough.
So, humbly and with greatest apologies, I’m asking for your help: any topics you’d be interested in hearing more about? Any burning questions you can’t get answers to elsewhere? Please let me know and I’ll try to rustle up an answer, article, or opinion. This is your chance to be featured as one of NFACP’s leading lights!
If not, I’ll be sweating it out and trying to come back to you with something next week.
In the meantime, if anyone is heading to the Path of Totality™, please say hi to the 5 aligned planets (and the sun and the moon) for the rest of us!
From the Washington Post:
It is only during totality that the eclipse reveals a simple if profound truth: The sun lives among the stars, and the planets live with the sun. The five planets that may be visible on April 8 — counting the planet at your feet — will be lined up, along with the sun and moon, on the ecliptic of the solar system.
These are the kinds of ho-hum facts we learn in elementary school but that become gasp inducing during totality.
“We can literally see our place in the universe,” NASA astrophysicist Michael Kirk said.
Looking forward to hearing from each and every one of you ;)
